Anna Hunt holds a B.S. in Environmental Biology from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado and attended the immersive Teton Science Schools graduate program in Kelly, Wyoming.
Anna began her work at Chewonki in 1997 as an instructor for the Outdoor Classroom, Traveling Natural History, and summer programs. For 4 years, she returned to the mountains of Colorado, where she owned and operated Lovelights Candle Company and taught for Science Discovery at University of Colorado Boulder. Since returning to Chewonki in 2002, Anna has directed our Traveling Natural Programs and coordinated program support across all departments. She currently serves as our Director of School Programs and Program Support.
Over the years, Anna has had the opportunity to lead wilderness trips in Wyoming, Maine, Georgia, Quebec, and Labrador for teens and adults. For 3 years, she volunteered as a mentor and co-coordinator of the Maine Master Naturalist Program and is a certified Wildlife Rehabilitator. She enjoys Maine’s vast accessibility to get out on the water for an adventure or find local trails for hiking or cross country skiing.
