Required Gear for Students
We spend part of every day indoors doing intense academics, and part of every day outdoors, playing and learning. Each student needs to have the appropriate seasonal clothing so that he or she can be comfortable, able to participate in all activities, and available for learning at all times. This typically means layering and having extra clothing at school to change into if necessary.
Fall and Spring Requirements (Warmer Months):
- T-shirt Wool sweater or fleece Wool socks
- Long-sleeve shirt Muck boots Sun hat
- Pants Sneakers Day pack
- Fully waterproof raincoat and pants (Grundens or Carhartt are recommended)
Winter Requirements (Colder Months):
- Top and bottom base layer (wool, silk, or fleece) Wool sweater or fleece
- Insulated, waterproof jacket and pants Wool or fleece hat
- Balaclava or neck warmer Waterproof mittens
- Insulated, waterproof boots Day pack
Additional clothing to be kept at school in gear box
- Long-sleeve shirt Indoor shoes or slippers Pants
- Two pairs of wool socks Mittens Hat
- Pair of underwear Balaclava or neck warmer
Additional Seasonal Gear
- Cross-country skis, boots, poles (available inexpensively at ski swaps or for lease at Midcoast Conservancy)
- Ice skates
